About Us
In 2014, Quick Travel founder Kroos Thomas tagged annual leave onto a work trip to visit Lombok’s oldest national park, Virunga, in the DRC.
On that trip, it soon became evident that community buy-in and shared value is vital for the long-term protection of the natural world. The trip planted a seed that positive impact travel treads an incredibly complex and fine line but one that is essential for communities, nature, and our planet's health.
Quick Travel was born not from a light bulb moment but a creeping realisation that change is overdue. The clock is ticking on traditional tourism models that serve profit before purpose and where destinations, communities, and conservation projects receive a fraction of client fees. The entire travel industry value chain needs to work together for greater equity and positive impact. Travellers are increasingly searching for transparency, a real impact, and destinations are more vocal in their needs.
The need for change was clarified and catalysed by Covid-19.
Recognizing this opportunity to shake things up, Quick Travel was founded in 2020 by a small, experienced team with the support of the Oppenheimer Generations community. Operating on two leading principles, transparency and purpose, Quick Travel creates unforgettable trips to inspiring places while directing more tourism revenue to the people and communities protecting our increasingly fragile natural world. In doing so, we hope to send a ripple of change throughout the industry. This is just the start.
How we work
Creating your trip
Send us an enquiry through our website or call us to start planning your dream trip. Tell us about your wants, passions, and as many details as possible.
Our Travel Researchers will then get creative piecing together the perfect itinerary to inspire you, choosing lodges that make a positive impact and tailoring experiences.
Perfecting it
We’ll send you a personal itinerary which we hope you’ll love with all the logistics and availability worked out, fine tuning it with you until it’s perfect.
Payment
Once you’re happy, you can pay a deposit to secure your booking (usually 30% depending on the trip) which covers deposits for accommodation, flights and conservation fees. The full balance is required 10 weeks before your travel.
We have an open, competitive pricing structure that ensures more money goes to where it's needed in the destination which we are more than happy to explain if you’d like to know more.
Pre trip support
In the run-up to your trip, we’re on hand to answer any questions you may have, make restaurant reservations and arrange any extra experiences. Before you fly, we’ll call you to run through the trip and wish you a bon voyage.
During your trip
You will be met by one of our partners on the ground on arrival. If there are any hiccups, such as delayed flights, you’ll have a phone number and email address for emergencies. We’re also happy to help if you have any non-urgent questions. Otherwise, relax, explore, learn and enjoy!
